About Hunter Valley Aviation

Hunter Valley Aviation provides a wide range of training courses - whether you are looking for an exciting hobby, or a rewarding career as a pilot.

Our location at Cessnock Airport in the scenic Hunter Valley means we can offer training in clear, uncluttered skies right in the middle of the Hunter Wine Country.

We have a base in Sydney at Bankstown Airport through our sister school Basair Australia - www.basair.com.au. Our clients enjoy all of Basair's facilities and can hire the many aircraft from Basair when visiting Sydney. In addition, our clients have a second base to operate from when visiting Sydney

Hunter Valley Aviation is an approved training provider for the University of Newcastle, (Aviation Faculty) and students from the 1998 to 2002 Bachelor of Science (Aviation) degree courses are currently undergoing training.

The Directors of Hunter Valley Aviation have been involved in almost every facet of general aviation including:

  • Professional flying training from beginner to commercial multi engine command instrument rating.
  • Charter operations.
  • Aerial work including photographic operations.

Our experience and involvement in the aviation industry affords us the knowledge of the requirements of companies hiring commercial pilots in today's environment.

Our Staff

In keeping with the high standards required to produce a professional and competent pilot, we strive to have the best instructors available conduct your training.

Quality and Standards

All flying training organisations and instructional staff are licensed and monitored by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and in keeping with the authority's requirements and our own high standards, all instructors are periodically assessed by a Senior Flying Instructor.
