FAQ's About Hunter Valley Aviation

What payment options are available?
The hourly training is charged at the rate applicable to the aircraft required for the particular phase of the training syllabus.

You may select to "pay as you go", these payments are made direct to Hunter Valley Aviation Pty. Ltd. at the completion of each week's flying.

In addition to the direct hourly training costs, there will be indirect costs such as:
a) Aviation medical
b) Examination fees
c) Flight testing officer costs for CPL (A) and CIR tests
d) Departmental publications, amendment service to be purchased as required.

How long does it take to gain a commercial pilot's licence?

The length of time taken varies according to how often a person can fly.

The person who can fly regularly (ie at least twice per week), will take substantially less than another who can only fly once per month. This will often affect the total flying hours, as well as the overall calendar time taken.

How many hours will it take?
A Minimum of 150 hours for the Commercial Pilot Licence, when conducted under an integrated course. The Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating will take a minimum of 40 hours.

Commercial Licence training that is not conducted under an integrated course will attract a minimum of 200 hours.

Is there an age limit to gaining a licence?
No.

What medical requirements must I meet?
CASA requires a basic medical examination.
